Catalina United Methodist Church Home

Library

Our Mission is to provide a "clean and well lit place for books" in support of the church members and staff as they seek to become a Christ-following community. To this end we maintain an orderly collection of bibles, concordances, commentaries, and books of an inspirational nature. Our collection puts emphasis on materials that are not available from the public library. The Catalina United Methodist Church library also serves as a homey intimate venue for bible study classes and small meetings.

Hours of Operation from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Sundays. Special needs can be accommodated through application to the church office. Books may be checked out by any person of good will. We do ask that patrons observe our simple sign out procedures posted on top of the library desk.

Size of Collection is 2600 volumes of adult literature and 1700 children's books. In addition we have tape recordings of the sermons delivered in the sanctuary during the past 20 years.

Significant Recent Accessions are Dead Sea Scrolls literature, bible commentaries, concordances, New Interpreter's Bible (12 vols.) and study bibles. News of new acquisitions will appear in the church bulletin from time to time.

The Library Committee is a standing committee operating under the education director. Its duties include operation of the library and periodic workdays for maintenance of the collection.
