Catalina United Methodist Church Home

Project Hospitality
Project Hospitality is a project Catalina has been involved in for three years. Last year we housed six men overnight each Tuesday and Friday night during the months of December, January, and February. These men are screened and sent to us by the Salvation Army. We provide the evening meal and breakfast for the men. In ddition, we provide individuals to supervise the men from 5:30 p.m. to 7:00 a.m.

Year End Report
In our three month participation on 26 nights we housed 152 men. Volunteers consisted of early evening and overnight hosts and those preparing and serving the evening meals and breakfast. There were a total of 125 people involved in the program from 73 Families - both Catalina members and nonmembers. A number of individuals volunteered for more than one meal or host. Thanks to all who participated in making the 2000-2001 program such a success.
This is the fourth year of this outreach program for our church. I will no longer continue to lead this program. In order for this worthy project to continue we need someone to take over this responsibility. This could be one individual or two or more as co-leaders. If you have an interest in leading this program please call the church office, (520) 327-4296. We would like a response by July 31,2001. Otherwise we will have to notify the Interfaith Council for the Homeless that Catalina UMC will not participate in next year's program.
I have appreciated all of your help and cooperation these past four years. It has been a lifting experience for me as I hope it has been for you. You have been a wonderful family of Christian people to work with.
Your brother in Christ,
Bob Briggs
