| Why was Easter so late in 2000? It fell on April 23, the latest it had been since 1943, when it was April 25, the latest it can possibly be. And Easter will be late again on April 24, 2011, and on April 25, 2038. Easter can be as early as March 22 (in 2008 it is scheduled to fall on March 23). This wide range of dates occurs because Roman Catholics and Protestants celebrate Easter on the Sunday after the first full moon on or after March 21. |
