Rules and Regulations
- For your child's safety-you must sign your child in and out in the
Day School office. Make sure the teacher is aware of your child's
presence before you leave the child in the classroom. Make sure the
teacher is aware you are taking the child when picking him/her up. We
encourage you to walk your child in, as opposed to carrying the child
from the car. Keep good-byes short and happy; this encourages the
child to separate cheerfully and easily.
- All authorized persons picking up your child must sign the
registration form. Notification of changes of authorized persons must
be made to the office at once. No one other than designated persons
will be allowed to pick up your child.
- Due to emergency situations, any change of address or phone
numbers must be reported to the office. It is important to be able to
reach you or a responsible person at all times. Check the blue
emergency card in the office from time to time to see if the
information is current.
- According to the Arizona Department of Health Services, our
licensing agency, we are unable to accept any child with a diagnosed
communicable disease (measles, mumps, chicken pox, etc.) or an obvious
acute illness. Therefore, please do not send you child to school when
he or she has the following (a fever greater than 99.9F, ear ache,
pink eye, sore throat, chest congestion, stomach ache, diarrhea, body
rash/bumps). Must be fever free for 24 hours before returning. These
medical precautions are taken for the protection of your child as well
as the other children entrusted to our care.
- The children are disciplined by "timing out" and by
natural and logical consequences. No physical punishment, belittling,
etc. is allowed.
- Our tuition is posted on the Tuition and
Fees page.
- DES clients are billed our monthly rate minus the payment
received from DES. The $10.00 discount does not apply to DES
clients.
- If you plan to withdraw your child two weeks notice is
required.
- Parents are encouraged to discuss the progress of their child
with his/her teacher providing you make an appointment with the
teacher.
- Please label your child's clothing and other belongings. A
change of clothing should be brought in for your child. Dress the
child simply and appropriately for the preschool setting.
- Medicine cannot be administered unless it is plainly labeled
and parents have signed the special form in the Day School office.
Medicines are locked in the refrigerator in the office. All
medication will be given at 12:30 p.m.
- Birthdays are very special events in the lives of the children.
We would ask that you talk to your child's teacher if you're planning
a party and wish to invite classmates. We ask that invitations be
passed out by the classroom teacher. This eliminates children not
invited from possibly being made to feel too badly.
- Birthday parties and special snacks at school are welcomed.
Please let us know if you plan to bring a cake, cupcakes ice cream or
popsicles. Treats must be pre-packaged, store-purchased items as per
Health Dept. regulations.
- If at any time you have problems related to school procedures,
please notify the office, 520-327-4791. Remember to inform us of
illnesses, vacations, family problems; these may affect behavior at
school and would help us relate better to your child.
- Our preschool, and day care is designed to serve working
parents, those going to school, and for other parents needing or
wanting child care. We endeavor to help your child have a better
understanding of the world about him, to learn tolerance for all
persons and to receive a sense of love and security from our teachers
and staff.
- Our hours are 6;30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., Monday through Friday.
If your child is picked up after 6:00 p.m., there is a $5.00 late
charge per each 15 minute or portion thereof.
- Tuition payments are due by the 10th of the month. Payments
made after that will be assessed $5.00 late charge.
- To enroll your child call the office the first week in March to
make an appointment for a visit during our Open House in April. At
that visit you will register for summer or fall placement. Siblings
or currently enrolled students will have priority. Admission requires
completing a registration form with signatures of all authorized
persons to pick up your child, a medical information and immunization
verification card, and the annual fee of $50.00.
- Special Needs: Special needs children will be evaluated on an
individual basis. Every effort will be made to accommodate these
children.
- Field trips require written permission, a written plan left at
center, emergency information taken on the field trip, a field trip
roster verified during trip, a beverage taken along, and proper I.D.
on each child.
- The Day School is closed on the following:
|

STATEMENT OF EMERGENCY PLAN
In case we need to evacuate our facility for safety reasons, Jo
Rhoads or Nicole Freeman will pull the fire alarm which instructs
everyone on the premises to leave the building and go to designated
areas. The person in charge will have taken the emergency medical
cards along and you will be called from a nearby phone (example Himmel
Park Library) to come to pick up your child.
Spiritual/Cultural Awareness Program
A spiritual/cultural awareness program is offered as a part of our
curriculum. This program is bimonthly for ages three and up -
