MISSION AND OUTREACH
"CHANGING LIVES BY SERVING OTHERS"

Serving others is the other half of the Gospel at Catalina. In 2005 over 20% of our budget (over $200,000) went directly to "Mission and Outreach" by helping others in our community and in our world. There are also many opportunities for "hands on" work in our community. For information on any of the agencies or groups listed below, contact the office at 520.327.4296.

Agua Prieta MIssion and Clinic
- Catalina has helped start and build a Methodist Church, medical clinic, and community center in Agua Prieta, Mexico.  Workteams from churches from all over the southwest come to help build a church and do God's work in Agua Prieta.

Angel Tree Project - Catalina has promised to act as the angels of 100 children of prisoners this Christmas.  The Angel Tree Sundays will be November 16th and 2eth with gifts due back on November 30th.

Blenman School - Catalina provided enough back to school materials for each of the 29 teachers to have two book bags full of donations.  Shoes, socks, and donations to buy them as needed were gratefully welcomed by the school.  If you would like to continue to help financially, money is being collected for food gift cards to be used when needed.  Seven Catalina folks have signed up to tutor, help the librarian, or serve as a lunchroom hostess.  More tutors are needed.  If you would like to help, call the church office at 327-4296 and leave a message for Sue Carter.

Interfaith Community Services - Catalina is a member of ICS, a group that provides services to the elderly and those in need in and around Tucson.

Project Homeless Hospitality
- Friday nights, December through February, Catalina feeds and provides over-night housing for homeless men screened by the Salvation Army.  Sign up to volunteer now.  Call the church office, 327-4296, for more information.

TMM (formerly known as Tucson Metroplitan Ministries) - Catalina is one of the founding churches of TMM and continues to provide volunteers and financial support.  TMM provides housing, clothing, and other services for low income families.  It also runs day care centers and a children's village.
